Care of your wooden cutting or serving board
The boards are very easy to maintain and will give you years of use. The boards are treated with mineral oil before leaving our workshop with Mineral oil. Mineral oil will prevent them from cracking and is definately the best product. Please do not use olive or vegetable oils as they will turn rancid after time leading to hygiene problems.
We recommend you periodically re-oil the boards with Mineral Oil which can be purchased on our web site.
Application of mineral oil
Rub the oil into the wood using a cloth. Remove any excess unabsorbed oil with a cloth. You can apply several coats if desired. You'll need to re-oil the items periodically, depending on their use. If they're used often, oil them every 2 months or so. You'll know it's time to re-oil because the color of the wood gets lighter.
